Light sheet fluorescence microscopy

Light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) is gaining more and more impact in the field of biological imaging. A wide range of biological samples already profit from this very sensitive and fast technique.

ZEISS is very glad to invite you in cooperation with the Medical University of Innsbruck and arivis AG to a workshop that puts this technique center stage. Learn more about new technology developments in light sheet microscopy, clearing methods, sample preparation and the latest software applications.

We are looking forward to an inspiring workshop with you!

Day 1, September 17, 2018

Presentations by invited speakers as well as by ZEISS and arivis AG will be held and aim to provide a comprehensive introduction to light sheet microscopy and its applications in biomedical and Life Science Research.

Day 2, September 18, 2018

Discover the applications and solutions with lightsheet microscopy first hand in practical hands-on sessions with the ZEISS Lightsheet Z.1 and arivis AG. Apply for yourselves typical imaging and quantification workflows - starting from Zeiss Lightsheet Z.1 and image acquisition towards visualization and analysis using arivis software solutions. You are very welcome to bring your own samples.

The registrations will be divided into small groups. Every hands-on session takes about two hours. Scheduling will take place individually.

Discover the ZEISS Lightsheet Z.1

Lightsheet microscopes illuminate only a thin plane of your specimen greatly decreasing phototoxicity and bleaching. Images are acquired with fast cameras allowing amazing z-stack speeds. Together this design is ideal for imaging both live samples and large tissue samples such as cleared brain tissue.

Lightsheet Z.1 offers a horizontal, optical design with vertical mounting of the sample. The sample suspended from above in the optimal media or solution allows easy positioning in XYZ and even rotation for the best angle of imaging.
